Brown Breaks Through for First Podium in 2022 🥉

Will Brown has finished 3rd in Race 25 at the Sandown SuperSprint.

Race 24 - P4

Brown qualified P4 for Saturday’s Race in the Top Ten Shootout and got away quickly on the race  start, forcing Shane van Gisbergen to block from the front row.

Brown took his stop on lap 16 for two fresh rear tyres though unfortunately lost a spot to Anton  De Pasquale who opted for the undercut, pitting a few laps earlier.

When the field cleansed with 12 laps to go, Will sat P4 while Brodie fought for a spot inside the  top ten.

Cam Waters, who was on 6-lap fresher rubber, tried hard to get by #9 Holden at the end, though  Brown wouldn’t let him have it and held him off to finish P4 at the finish.

Race 25 - P3

Starting from P7 on the grid, Brown got a brilliant start and was quick down the inside on the way  to turn 1, moving up to P6.

Taking his stop on lap 16 from P2, and with another fast stop for rears, was P4 by the time the  field cleansed with 17 laps to go.

One of the fastest on track and on 4-lap fresher tyres, Will quickly closed the gap to David  Reynolds in front.

He didn’t muck around and got the move done at the last corner on lap 32 for the last spot on the  podium, securing his first podium of 2022 and his first podium at Sandown.

Race 26 - P11

At lights out on the second race, Brown took off from P11 and held his position.  The race was fairly processional with Brown stopping on lap 19 for his fresh rubber.

Brown re-joined the race in traffic and right behind James Courtney; sitting on the tail of the #5  until the very end, finally getting by with 5 laps to go.

Next in line was Cam Waters, and with a speedy car closed the gap from 2.7-seconds to 0.6- seconds within three laps.

Unable to get the move done though, Brown finished just behind in P11.

Collective points from all three races also sees Brown claim 4th overall for the weekend.
