Will Claims First Career Podium in Sydney 🥈

Erebus Motorsport’s Will Brown has scored his maiden podium in a breathless race at Sydney Motorsport Park today, taking second after applying intense pressure to the leader in the closing stages.

Starting from the front row for the second time this weekend, Will got a blistering start to go side-by-side with Anton De Pasquale through the first corners. Behind him, Brodie got away well and was fighting hard from P5.

It wasn’t an easy feat for Brodie tough, who was battling some big moves in the opening lap on some very worn rubber. He moved down the order fairly quickly and eager to take some newer tyres, Brodie pit at the end of lap 5 from P23 for four tyres. Will pushed his car a fair way further and pit at the end of lap 15 for his full set of rubber. A clean and quick stop the WD-40 Commodore re-join in effective third.

With just 1.3-seconds until Will Davison in front, the #9 driver got past on lap 17 before charging down De Pasquale. It was at that same time the field settled and showed Brodie’s position in P15.

Lapping over a second quicker than the leader, Will quickly chased down De Pasquale and had the gap down to less than half a second with six laps remaining. Will was right on his bumper and kept poking his nose in for an overtake. Unable to make a move stick, Will settled for a glorious second place, rounding out a fantastic weekend for the entire team.
