Pole & Podium for Brown in Tasmania 🥉
Will Brown has claimed his first Pole Position of 2025 and a podium finish in the final race of the Tasmania Super 440.
Race 11 - P5
Saturday morning at Symmons Plains bought back to back qualifying sessions, broken into Q1 with the whole feed and Q2 with only the top ten times from Q1. Brown advanced to Q2 and finished P4, taking off from the second row in the first race of the weekend he jumped to P3 from the start and then quickly jumped to P2 when he passed Randle. Unfortunately there was a mishap in the Pit Stop which set him back a few places and he rejoined in traffic, going onto finish P5.
Race 12 - P11
In the second qualifying session, Brown came up short in Q1 and began the second race on Saturday from P13. Brown had a tough race in the mid-field, coming together with Mostert and running off at Turn 1 and dropped to P15 before finishing a disappointing P11.
Race 13 - P3Â
Brown advanced from Q2 to the Top Ten Shootout on Sunday where he put down a flyer to claim his first Pole Position of 2025.
Unfortunately at the beginning of the 78-lap race, he stuffed up his start and dropped to second, then was shuffled up the road by Cam Waters and dropped to P5. The Red Bull Ampol Racing team opted to go a different strategy because the #1 was a bit behind and thankfully it paid off for Brown who finished P3 in the final race.Â
The team is one-two in the Championship. I've dropped to second, which is a bit disappointing, but it's good for both cars to be one and two in the Championship currently. I definitely think the team is feeling good. I think that we're a lot stronger this week than we were in Taupo. I don't think I have a lot better results to show for it, but we're definitely feeling a lot stronger. I think I can say I’ve bounced back and we're ready to go again in Perth.
Round 5 of the Supercars Championship will be held on June 6-8 at the Perth Super 440.
